Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from accredited university,
Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certificate
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) procedures and ability to schedule, prepare documentation and lead ARD committee meetings regarding the development of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and appropriate placement of students eligible for services
- Knowledge of the IEP process and ability to assist classroom teachers with implementation of the IEP
- Ability to maintain organization of multiple schedules and timeline requirements
- Ability to serve as a resource to provide parents and teachers with the appropriate tools and the information necessary to effectively plan and deliver the education of students with special needs
Experience: Minimum 3 years teaching experience, including teaching students with disabilities
Salary: WISD Teacher Pay Scale
